Say Cheese...With A Fork In It!!

      Before I get started let me thank falboart for the use of the artwork in this post. I love it when I need to tell a story and I find an Etsy shop that perfectly assists me!! Thank you falboart! :-) {By the way, all of the prints/posters used in this post are for sell in his shop HERE. Or you can click directly on any photo to go to that particular piece.}
     Now...the story. I should start by telling you that the name of the cubist dental artwork in the header photo is Say Cheese. It was done by Anthony Falbo. When I was looking for a way to tell you about my hubby's trip to the dentist the other day, not only did I see this image, but I saw the whole series of dental artwork done in his shop!....SCORE!!
       Yes, hubby and I have had some issues with a lot of things where our bodies are concerned. Well, mostly me! ^_^...But one thing we hadn't had a lot of problems with is our teeth! We've both always had pretty strong teeth!...
        ...Well, except for a yellowing tooth in the front of hubby's mouth...a crown gone bad from his younger football days...*giggle*...and my front tooth crown from....well...it just broke off, okay!!
           I think a chicken bone got it on one of my particularly ravenous 'girl' days!...Whatever!! LOL
     But over the last couple of weeks hubby was complaining occasionally about a toothache. He couldn't put hot or cold things directly on it...
        I resisted...strongly...the urge to say "I TOLD YOU SO!!"...and I really wanted to...because for months prior to this tooth issue I've been trying to dissuade him from his new found love...Twizzlers ...
       ...and other gummy, chewy candies too! {Although...YUM!!! You really can't beat a Twizzler, can you? It's low-fat and everything!!! ^_^}
         Ummmm...where was I now?!...Oh yeah!...Anyway...he's been chewing away on these candies and getting the sugars all stuck to his teeth. And on more than one occasion I found him with a fork tine wedged in his mouth trying to pry something off of a tooth, or to get it from between a tooth! Grrrr! A fork!!!!...Really?!!
      So, imagine my surprise when this toothache just popped up out of nowhere!.....yeah right!
      Shortly after that...he realized there was a hollow or broken off area in one of the molars, and the pain was becoming more intense...
         So, I made him call the dentist...and yes, ladies...which some of you wives already know I'm sure!...some husbands are the kind you have to MAKE call the dentist!!...*I resist following that sentence with the word "babies!!" LOL*
       Don't get me wrong!...hubby goes to the dentist regularly, but those visits are when he's going to get them cleaned by the smiling dental hygienist who LOVES his teeth!...
           ...He loves hearing her say how great his teeth are, and how they're hardly crooked or anything!! :-))
        I had to make him call when he knew that when he got there the dentist, nor the hygienist,  were gonna be smiling at him!! They were gonna be unhappy!...especially with the knowledge that he's been eating all that teeth-eroding candy, not flossing his teeth regularly, but instead...'forking' his teeth!!...Oh no! They were not gonna be happy at all!!
      Now comes the really bad part!! ^_^ The dentist office he went to is the same dentist office that I refused to go to anymore!...long story. But suffice it to say that the reason I finally decided to high-tail it outta there...for good!...was when I had a tooth removed also. The dentist almost removed the wrong tooth because he came in the wrong room! He had about three extractions going in three different rooms all at the same time!!
      Anyway!...when I finally was sure he knew who he was working on, and I was sufficiently numbed up...that's another whole story!...he went to take my tooth out and he was yanking my head and twisted my neck so much that I thought I was gonna get killed in the chair by a snapped broken neck!...or at the very least, end up with whiplash!...not what you expect to come away with when you leave the dentist office carrying your huge tooth with the roots still dangling!!...Yes he did!!!! YIKES!....NOT AGAIN....NOT ME anyway!!!
      Hubby felt bad that I left the dentist office like I did...in a huff, without a 'I'm so sorry, but I'll be going to another dentist from now on. Thank you for your services. ♥'...But that's not how I was feeling when I left there!!! And I'm not a faker!! They just better be glad I didn't tell them...in front of their whole waiting room full of customers...how I was REALLY feeling!! I thought that was polite enough!! LOL
      But hubby went back!! And he's been going back...without incident, until now!...So, he went in, told them what the problem was, they took an X-ray...
      ...and Oh Yeah! That baby had to come out!! Apparently it was all broken down in the gum and everything!
          They didn't take it out on the first visit though. They sent him away with a prescription for antibiotics that he had to take for a week to get rid of any infection that might've developed, and then he had to go back in for the extraction.
       I think he secretly thought that since there was now a whole slew of new dentists sharing the work-load in this dentist office, he wouldn't even see the same dentist that gave me so much trouble!...But guess what?! ^_^ That's the one he got!! I think he's their 'dental office extraction expert'!....and that ain't saying much for this office!! ^_^
      Into the chair he went...I'm glad I wasn't there to witness what happened next!!!...
        He had the exact same experience I did! Yanking and yanking, knee to the waist pulling, drilling, jabbing, bleeding, and more yanking...and the tooth came out in more than one piece. The dentist kept going back in...and back in...and back in!! Hubby jokingly says...now!...that he thought he was gonna come out of there deaf and blind and not be able to have babies ever again!! LOL {Although who he's planning to have those with...he's still not clear on! LOL I know one thing...it's NOT ME! That's for sure!!!...They might come out with twizzlers and forks stuck up their nose!! ^_^}
       Anyway!....the teeth he has left,...after warm salt and water for a couple of days, and a prescription for Vicodin...which he didn't fill...are very happy!...and that was all he wanted in the first place! :-]
       I almost said THE END! But there is a prolog...I don't think he'll be going back to this dentist office again!...Well, maybe he will...to see the nice smiling hygienist! :-))

Candy Rhyme

It's not right...I know,
to start your day with a chocolate face;
But the M&Ms with peanuts
gave my dream such a lovely taste.

It got me really thinking
about the candies of my youth,
like "Pixie Sticks" and "Twizzlers",
WOW! I had such a big 'Sweet Tooth'!

I remember in the playground,
trading candy like a stock.
It's a wonder you never hear
of kids going into "candy shock"!

'Hershey's with almonds',
'Kit Kats' and 'Peanut Bars';
Chocolate 'Reese's cups',
'3 Musketeers' and 'Mars'.

'Pay Days', 'Sugar Babies',
'Nestle's Crunch' and 'Heath Bars' too;
'York Peppermint patties',
because hard candies just won't do.

'Snickers', 'Milky Way',
'Butterfinger', Raisinets';
All that chocolate, good for me,
but not good for household pets!

'Twix', 'Reese's Pieces',
'Almond Joy', and Oh Yeah!, 'Mounds';
'Tootsie Rolls' and 'Whoppers'
I could eat them by the pounds!

'Dove Bar', 'Now or Laters',
'Laffy Taffy', 'Zagnut', 'Skor'.
Okay, I'm gonna stop now,
but there's plenty, plenty more!

Now that I'm grown up
I don't eat candy all the time.
Instead, I have sweet dreams of it,
and write a candy rhyme!

Should I Wade Into The 'Ebay' Waters?!

        If you saw my post yesterday about the photo headband wars between hubby and I, you might appreciate my next installment on that subject...in a minute. But first I have to get some help with something!
     My girlfriend has a mink stole she wants to sell...on Ebay, if I can muster it!...I'm lost over there!! O_0 Have any of you 'sold' on Ebay?!...I never have. I've bought!...and I look around at stuff over there all the time! But when I tried to go and list her beautiful stole...Aargh!!...Confusion!!! Please help me, any of you who have 'sold' something there. What is it that I should know?!
     Here's what I'm trying to list for her...
         It's a beautiful soft silver mink stole...pre-owned obviously. It measures 80 inches (204 cm) across the bottom, when it's stretched out...and 20 inches (51 cm) at the widest point.

       Just in case I can't figure out Ebay's site...which I'm really trying to do with every fiber of my gray-haired and gray-celled brain!...I'm gonna put all of the particulars in this post! :-)
      It's a beautiful stole, worth...according to some of the similar ones on Ebay...up to $500 or $600. She's only asking for $300 though!
         It has a little sewing issue with a loose lining in a couple of places along the bottom edge...
          Nothing unfix-able. It's not damaged. Just loose!...With her schedule I think it's just something she'd rather not have to deal with if she doesn't have to right now! {But I'm sure she'd sew it up for someone if they really wanted her too...and they were willing to pay the extra for her aggravation...She's a fabulous seamstress!}
        With it being so soft and beautiful, it certainly would be well worth it!!
      It has some great points of interest too!...like four little snaps (I'll show you what those are for in a minute),...and the inside attached straps, so that it doesn't just slip off of your shoulders when you're wearing it. (see photo below) {At least that's what we figured they were for! ^_^}...

       And it has the cutest three-cluster flowers stitched all over the inside lining!...
    It's kind of a unique feature as far as we could tell, the three-cluster flowers I mean. We didn't see any on Ebay like it!...

         It also has this detailed ruffling along the inside edge of the stole

      ...Other details are the monogrammed lettering...{I suppose this could be removed...or replaced with the owners initials if they wanted.} I'm only mentioning it for complete disclosure.

      The tag in the collar says 'Astmann Furs Springfield Mass'...

        This is what it looks like when it's hanging down straight...

      ...but if you snap the four snaps you can wear it like this!...
        It makes a cozy warm pouch on both sides to keep your hands warm when it's chilly!!...
      Isn't that great! :-) People are so clever!...If any of you wanna take it off my hands and save me some Ebay trouble just leave me a comment below as to how I can contact you.
     Now...back to the post subject I did yesterday! ^_^ The more I read your comments, and the more I thought about it, the more I realized that my hubby's lack of fashion styling ability with my headbands shouldn't have been a big surprise to me!...And that's what he's been laughing and saying to me ever since this whole subject came up! LOL
    The truth is...he's taken photos of my scarves in the past that I never showed to you! In fact, most of them I just erased!! ^_^ When I looked through my photos this morning I realized that I hadn't erased all of them.
     This is a photo of my Sweater Scarf that's now in my Wuglyees shop...
      These are the photos he 'styled' and I never used!...
        I debated...agonized...about this next one (below), but I did put this shot in the 5 in the shop...
          I agonized about it because...if you bought the scarf you wouldn't be able to wear it like this! LOL...*shaking my head*
    Somebody bought this next one (below)...probably because they never saw it styled like this! LOL...

      And do you remember my Black and White Button Wrap Shawl?!

        ...Well, you never saw it like this!...
         So, there you go! Proof that my hubby was just being 'him'!...and I was in the wrong...I said it. I was wrong!...Sorry honey. :-) ...Yes, I do know how to apologize. I just don't get much practice because I don't have to do it often! ^_^
      Okay, that's all I got today...except to say don't forget to enter the headband Giveaway. And please tell me what your color preference is too!...Also, please be here tomorrow if you're interested in hearing the tale of hubby's trip to the dentist yesterday! :-)) I think it's worth a visit!...Have a good day, Everybody!! :-)

I'm.......Sorry?

"I'm sorry" doesn't roll like butter
from my wordy tongue.
Maybe it's because it tried a few times
and got hung!

Maybe it's because
 I like my sentences to be long.
Or maybe it's because
I need more practice being wrong!

Wug Household Headband Wars!!

        I'm almost ready to concede, as of right now, that maybe neither of us...meaning him!...was wrong, and that it might have been just a case of disappointment, and the two of us misunderstanding one another. I'll tell you what happened and you can tell me what you think!
     For two weekends I've been saying to hubby: "Can you take some shots of my new headbands on Shequita in the backyard? Mine don't look so good. You take great shots, and Cyber Monday is coming!! I wanna have them listed by then if I can."...And he said: "Sure, honey!"
      Then the arrangements, and the 'ToDo' list, kept mounting up for him.  His job schedule got more hectic because of the holiday, and with 'Peaches' funeral coming...time just kept getting away from him!
      So, I kept 'gently' reminding him about my photos...And he was like 'Oh Yeah! I'll try to do that today!'...But the darkness of every day came up late, and went down early, with Shequita and her hanging eyelash (see the header photo) just sitting here staring at me...trying to blink without it falling off! LOL
    And I decided to take some shots of them on my own...
       A whole week came and went!....♫ doo dee doo dee doo dee ♫...WHATEVER!! ^_^ I just kept plugging away at it!...
          More 'gentle' reminders were  flung spoken softly to him...but he didn't have time to do it! "I'll get to it! Give me time! You're being so impatient!!"...O_0 *Talking to myself* "He's got a lot going on. His nerves are a little on end. Try to understand."....But it wasn't easy!!!! Grrrr!....I just kept taking these sad, non-usable photos, trying to get at least ONE right! LOL...
       When I couldn't even get a good shot of my yellow metallic threaded beauty I knew that enough was enough!! I was going to go from 'gently' to more dramatic measures! I mean...our Watchtowers were done for the meeting, it was already almost 12:00, our meeting would be at 3:00, and it would be dark by the time the meeting was over! Not to mention that there was only those few hours separating me and today.....Cyber Monday!!!....Oh Yeah! Yesterday was my last chance! I had to get some decent photos!...and it was a beautiful weather day in the backyard too!
      So I threw down the gauntlet! I reminded my hubby that it's been a long two weeks and that I know it's not the most important thing in the world, but that it's very important to me! And that if he loves me he'll want to see me calm and peaceful....not raving like some kind of broken record about photos...and photos...and photos...and PHOTOS!!!! Grrrr!...He agreed, but he sure wasn't happy about it!!
     He dropped whatever it was he was doing, and went into the backyard with Shequita and the bag with the headbands in them. For about an hour I didn't hear anything! Then he popped his head in and said: "Did you call me?!"...I said: "No!...But I did forget to give you this last headband I finished this morning!"
     He got a funny look on his face like he wanted to say something 'not so nice'...but he didn't say it! After 30 something years though...I know that look! O_O He was really not happy with me! And I felt kinda bad too...sorta. :-))
     Then he came back in and said something like: "Did you finish anymore headbands that I need to photograph?!...Are you sure?!"....O_0 Mr. Funny Man!!...I didn't answer him. I just politely took my camera out of his hand and gave him a look!! Just like the look he gave me earlier! LOL. He said: "What?" Then he smiled and walked away...Hmmmm....Why is he smiling?! O_0
      Well, now I know why he was smiling!! Look for yourself!...
      The headband with the tie string in the back...looks like Shequita is about to get a 'bowl' haircut!...
     But whatever! I'm not gonna complain too much about it. It's more useable than my photos!!...But wait! Look how he has Shequita wearing the hat I made!!...
      This is a floppy hat! It's suppose to flop down past the neck!....O_0 I see a trend here...
       I know...you're thinking 'What's the big deal? They don't look that bad!'...And you would be right! THESE were the best of the bunch!! And thanks to my "ALERT! System's Overload!!" button in my head going off...there's now no evidence to prove my case that these were among the best of them!! O_O I got really mad and erased each and every one of them!
     I can tell you what they looked like though!...Shequita's eyelash, dangling strangely worse than it had before, was in every close up! And every close up was of Shequita wearing every single headband with my crocheted flower on the very top of her head!!!!!!!!!!! She looked like one of the African women of the Serengeti, coming back from the river, carrying a bowl of water on the top of her head!!! O_0 ...Oooooo! I was so mad!!!!!!
    I asked him why he did that, and said 'Where have you ever seen any woman wearing a headband with the flower on the top of her head?!!!' ...(Some of the shots had the flower lowered to directly in the middle of the forehead!!! Grrr!)
     He seemed surprised that I would say such 'not nice' things about his photos...especially after he stopped what he was doing to take them!...O_0 Uh Huh!!!...He says he was just trying to give me different looks, was all. He said: "You didn't tell me you wanted a particular kind of shot! I'm a man! How do I know how women are wearing their headbands!! I was just trying to do what you asked...as quick as I could!!"...I wasn't buying it!! It looked like a veiled attempt at argument-aggression to me! LOL
     As the night wore on though...I started to get the sense that maybe I over-reacted...He actually went out to 'Macy's' at the Mall...I thought he had gone to the store!...to look at the mannequins in the headband department to see what it was he did wrong...*hanging my head* :-( ...Apparently he was sincerely trying to style the photos up for me!! YIKES!!...Poor fashion devoid hubby. LOL
     I apologized profusely...'gently'. :-] And this morning all is well in the Wug household again!..He assured me that he'll make time and take some new shots, and he'll let me put the headbands on Shequita this time. He'll just take the pictures! ^_^ He said: "Was there any in there that you can use?! O_O"..."Yes there were, baby."...
        Of course...I didn't tell him that, depending on if anybody chooses one of them for the Giveaway, these might not ever make it to my shop anyway!...Sometimes, after the white flag has been raised...so to speak...it's better to leave well enough alone!! ^_^
      And even though Shequita's eyelash has a starring role in the header photo shot above...I still have a couple of shots of that headband I still might be able to use too!...
       As I said in the beginning of this post, it was probably just a case of disappointment and the two of us not understanding one another. What do you think?!...At any rate, war averted!.....Peace talks at Eleven! LOL

Disappointment

Have you ever been disappointed
by expectation not fulfilled?
Thinking someone would do something'
and finding no one really will?

Have you ever got so mad
that you didn't know what to do?
Where you knew you couldn't 'blow up'
because that really isn't 'You'?!

Have you ever wished that people
would behave a different way?
But you found that how they did things
was more thoughtless every day?

Have you ever been discouraged?
Have you struggled to hold on?
Have you maximized your patience,
and your 'wait-and-see' is gone?!

Yes, I've danced with disappointment.
Given frustration a nod.
But I've dealt with all of it
because I've always had my God.

He, for sure, is disappointed
at the things that men will do.
But if he can suffer through it,
then I know that I can too!

{UPDATE!...I got a few better shots and listed 7 of the headbands in the shop, Wuglyees.etsy.com...HERE, today! WOOHOO!!!!! ^_^ I'm feeling so accomplished...and mentally exhausted!}
