YAY!! Hubby's Scarf Is Finished!!

After spending yesterday morning cutting yarn for scarf fringe, and then cutting more yarn, and then...cutting more yarn! ^_^... hubby is tired of looking at blue fringe yarn! LOL But knowing that his scarf is finished has him in a very relaxed state this morning...Almost as relaxed as our kitty holding the pencil case in the header photo! ^_^
      Here i is!!...

The shot of it from inside the house didn't do it justice though. It had to be seen in good lighting...which wasn't easy, with our drizzly, rainy weather...

I offered to cut the fringe for him, but he wasn't having any of it!! ^_^ He wanted his scarf to be done COMPLETELY by him!...

...Done! :-) ... Not too shabby, right?! :-]

He was so satisfied with himself that he couldn't just stop at the scarf! :-) As soon as he rested up a bit, he was off to the kitchen!...Banana walnut bread bound! :-)

      YUM!

     YUM!

     YUM!!!! :-)

I don't know what he's gonna do with himself today...besides taking care of me!...but whatever it is, I'm in, Baby!!! ^_^

All we have to do is get rid of his snowy, rainy, drizzly, cloudy, weather we're having!...Any ideas of how to do that?! O_O ... The only good thing about it...sorta...is that it's melting the snow!...I say 'sorta' good because the water from the melting is coming up to the back door...freezing...melting...re-freezing...re-melting!...Ugh!

Can you see the image of the trees in the water?! :-))

Okay...I have some boutonnieres to get into the shop. A silver one too!! :-) I'll show them to you tomorrow...Have a good day, Everybody! :-)

Hubby's Crochet

He worked on it intensely,
with his glasses half way down.
He fixed his hands correctly,
every 'boo boo' met with frown.

He learned to crochet his way,
in and out, loop, loop, chain one.
Now he's sitting with a smile,
because his first scarf is all done!

Hello!!

Greetings, Bloggers! ^_^ I'm so sorry I'm so late putting my post up today, but I woke up with a boiling stomach, pains everywhere because it's raining, and sales in my shop that had to be wrapped and shipped. And besides all of that, the nice lady that cleans for me came early, and her and I got to talking and laughing....And in between that, the phone has been ringing off the hook!!! ^_^ Hello!!
My somach is still doing a slow growl every once in a while...NOT GOOD! LOL...but at least I have a few minutes now to sit here and say: "Hello!" :-) ..."How ya doing?!"..."Whatcha up to lately?!" ^_^
What I'm 'up to' today is gonna be crocheting! :-) I'm sill trying to get into a timed routine for making my tiny lapel pins. At some point I wanna be able to just replace ones going out, and make a new design color here and there as I want to...Yeah, right! ^_^ We'll see how it turns out!
I do love color though! Hello!! :-] That's probably why this pencil print caught my eye!...

I think I have boutonnieres and lapel pins in my Wuglyees shop right now in every one of these colors! :-))

But I love words...and naps too!...Hello! :-)) That's why my head is trying to nod while looking at this right now! ^_^ ...

     So cool!! :-)

     And speaking of cool...

I love his cake topper!!! ^_^ My hubby is in the kitchen on his rainy gloomy day, making walnut banana bread. I wish I had this cake topper to put on top of it, with some cream cheese frosting, when he's done. YUM!

Okay...I know my conversation is all over the place! But what do you want?...I'm working with a distracted mind...a distracted stomach...and a distracted crochet schedule!!...Just be thankful you didn't get me talking about the resigning pope...floating, non-powered cruise ships...the country singer Mindy McCready's death...Ocar Pistorius' murder conviction...watered down Budweiser beer...the New Zealand great white shark...snow hurricanes...etc...!...Hello!...We could've been here all day!!! ^_^

Have a good day, Everybody!! :-) Goodbye!

Priorities

Big rocks of life, important things,
decisions in your prime,
require the best that you can give;
Deserve the choicest of your time.

We have to go to work;
and everyone needs time to play;
But without priorities
the speed of time will take your day.

And if you don't believe it,
try this trick, with rocks and sand;
Put rocks into a bucket.
Then fill the sand in, hand by hand.

Now, empty out your bucket,
and then fill it all back up.
But this time, put the sand in first,
the same sand, cup by cup.

The thing that you will find
is that you don't now have the room!
Putting rocks back in is now like
putting a baby back in the womb.

The rocks are goals, priorities,
the important things to you.
The sand can be most anything,
even recreation too.

Yes, Such is the challenge
when you're managing your time.
That's why Big Rocks come first!
They help prioritize the climb.

Story Of An Unhappy Package Shipper

I'm a girl that loves mail! I love to send...and receive...mail!...whether they be letters, cards, or packages. Well, I guess I should say I love to receive 'most' mail. My love would not include bills and store advertising flyers. Those...I'm not a fan of receiving! O_O...But personal letters and cards?...I LOVE to receive them! :-]
I love mail so much that when I was a young girl I used to wait out on the stoop of our house for the mailman to come, and I would walk him to our door, while carrying on a little chat with him...of course. :-) Yeah, I guess you could say I LOVED mail!..or was it the mail carrier?! O_O...WHATEVER!
But that's why I'm so unhappy now, about the increase in prices over the last month or so, for getting mail...and packages...shipped. :-( Especially the packages from my Wuglyees Etsy shop to customers in and outside of the United States! :-(

Actually, I'm more than unhappy about the international prices. I'm heart-sick. :-( I used to ship one of my little lapel pins...

...let's say...to London, in the United Kingdom, for about $5 or $6...depending on the size of the free gift I was including in the package...But I just shipped that very same thing to London the other day and it cost $9.45!!...It's ridiculous!!...especially since my lapel pin is only $9 by itself!! O_O Now the customer will be paying more for shipping than for the item that they're purchasing!!...*sigh*
And if the weight of my tiny, one inch long, lapel pin is costing that much to ship, you can just about imagine how much my thick crocheted scarves and pocketbooks are gonna cost!! O_O...It's making me wonder if shipping out of the country even makes sense anymore. O_O
I've only had one over seas customer since the shipping prices went up...But of course, it's February!...I'm gonna try to hold out until at least June, and see what happens. By that time weddings will have been planned, dinner parties will be had, and all kinds of auctions and museum openings will have begun. :-) If nobody is buying a dressy lapel pin by then...I'll know it's about time to pack up my 'dog and pony show'...lapel pin-wise!...and I don't mean packing it up for shipping either!! LOL

Moving on!...Ugh!...Have a good day, Everybody...By the way, my stinky mood didn't have anything to do with my 'To Do' list yesterday. :-)) I got every single thing on the list DONE!! :-) Happiness!!...Maybe tomorrow I'll get a bunch of sales and my 'happy shipper' mood will return! ^_^ ... Don't hold your breath until then though! :-))

You Probably Don't Care!

I know you probably don't care,
but I will tell you anyway!
I mean, I have to talk about it.
It's what I do most every day!

I know you have your own things going,
and my things? You could care less.
But I have to spill it, talk,
share, converse, chat, or confess.

Don't you have some days like that,
when you just 'let down your hair'?
Well, today was that for me,
and it's okay if you don't care!

As you see, it didn't stop me.
I'm still talking, cracking wise.
You don't have to read about it.
You can cover up your eyes.

Wouldn't This Make You Wanna Stop In Your Tracks And Look Too?!

There are no words!...Well, for most people there would be no words! For me...there are ALWAYS words!! LOL...I LOVE Federikas!!!...*deep breath......breathe......continue breathing!* ^_^
Truth be told, I have loved Federikas for years now. Her jewelry is one of the first things that ever popped out on me when I started to scroll the search on Etsy years ago! :-) But I hadn't peeped by her shop for quite a while. But when I saw these 'dragonfly necklace' babies...

     ...I had to stop in my tracks!! :-] ... You still got it, Federikas!! :-) {And these are only a few of her creations. I noticed in her shop that she's making rings now too!!...Go by and take a look...if you dare! ^_^}

The amount of snow we got last night isn't gonna mess with people who are trying to stop in their tracks today. And that's a good thing!!...We were suppose to get anywhere from 4-to 8 inches...maybe. What we got was maybe...a quarter of an inch! THANK YOU!! :-) But even that small amount looks pretty on the trees in the backyard!...

Maybe the birdies will be tracking their way back to the feeder today!...I miss my little 'chirpers'!

And I have to stop right here and thank my neighbor/girlfriend for tracking over some blueberries to hubby and I! :-)

These aren't the blueberries our friend brought us. This photograph belongs to Angela Lynn of SweetMomentsCaptured! :-) Her photo is MUCH better than the one I would've tried to give you...taken in the morning darkness! LOL

Now, before I go, I wanna show you another couple of items that could stop you in your tracks!...I was gonna wait until tomorrow to share them, but why?! ^_^ ...

You probably now agree with me, that these were too nice to make them wait! :-)

Okay, I'm gonna make some tracks to my big 'To Do' list. I've got a loooooooooong list of things I have to get done To-Day!! Whatever mood I'm in tomorrow will let you know if it'll be a 'Mission Accomplished'!....or 'To Be Continued'. We'll see!
       So, I'm off!...Have a good day, Everybody! :-)

 Light

I wait most every morning
to see soft light coming through the trees;
To see the darkness pierced by shadows,
making clarity a tease.

I wait most every morning,
knowing darkness will give way;
Hoping sunrise won't forget me,
and my night will soon be day.

I wait most every morning,
for the thick black blanket's night
to flip back and uncover
all the brilliant rested light!

I've never been disappointed.
Light always manages to appear.
And I always smile and wave and holler:
"Hello Light! I'm over here!"

Flowers To Funny, And Some Pancakes In Between!

I know it's risky to lead my blog post with a little seen crochet flower necklace, but...call me adventurous! ^_^ ... Yes...it's still 'Pancake Sunday' in our house...(see photos below)...These are my breakfast pancakes this morning without syrup...

...and these are my breakfast pancakes WITH syrup! :-) YUM!!!...

I also could have shown you the empty plate after I scarfed them down!...but where would be the sense in that?! LOL ...And besides, that's not my focus for today's blog post!...I wanna show you where my crochet necklace (from the header photo) showed up!...

It showed up in his pretty treasury, entitled 'Bring some color to your life'!...

And when I say 'pretty', I mean 'pretty'!...Look at these cute items that were included...

You can click on the treasury photo to go over and check out the other Etsy shop items, if you like. You won't be disappointed I don't think. :-]
In fact you might end up smiling like I did when I got another email from a satisfied customer last night! :-) He received his lapel pin and wanted me to see it on his suit!...

Doesn't that lilac purple look good on that dark suit?! :-) I have to admit, I hadn't envisioned it on a dark suit...Goes to show what I know!...So cool! :-) ... I love my customers!!

Anyway, I'm not gonna hang around doing a lot of 'jibbbery jabbing' today. I'm having a bit of stomach pain this morning...it might have been the milk I drank before bed last night. O-U-C-H! I need to doctor myself a bit so I can be 'wide-eyed and bushy-tailed' for the meeting today!! :-)
Have a good day, Everybody! :-) And don't take any wooden nickles! ^_^ ...I don't know why I'm bringing up wooden nickles now. :-)) My sense of humor is all over the place!! :-)) ... It just popped into my head, with my mother's voice attached to it, and I said it! Clearly, more than my stomach needs doctoring!! LOL Bye!

Sense Of Humor

How do you gauge a sense of humor?
Is it just about a laugh?
Do you only know you're funny
when they're doubled up, in half?

Can a chuckle or a giggle
be a clue that you have wit?
Or can a smile and a head shake
be the quiet proof of it?

It's the people that are laughing,
in their house, their yard, their car.
That can spot a sense of humor;
recognize it from afar.

I don't know myself.
I just know what makes me smile.
Anyone who likes themselves
and can be talking for a while.

And if they make me wanna sit
and wonder what will they say next,
then they have a sense of humor
cuz I wouldn't be here unless...

Random Talk About Nothing...And Everything!

I don't have anything particular to talk about today...I know! Beat the bands! Slap your knee! Holler cross the way and tell your mama! LOL...Wait a minute though! I didn't say I wasn't gonna talk! I just said I had nothing 'particular' to talk about!! ^_^ When did lack of subject matter ever stop me from talking......NEVER! ^_^
So, welcome to my random, 'talk-about-nothing-and-everything' post! :-] And just like usual, I'm gonna start with my backyard...Look at the red-headed woodpecker that's been frequenting my suet feeder?!...

...Isn't he pretty?! :-) ... (You can click the photo to enlarge it a bit, if you like.) I opened the blinds on him this time!...Usually I'm peeping at him like this...

...but he's gotten so friendly that he doesn't care how I'm looking at him...as long as the food keeps coming, and I don't pull his tail feather! ^_^ Yes...yes I have been tempted!!...But so far I've kept my fingers to myself! LOL
I haven't seen him this morning. Probably because we have a couple of snow and rain storms coming. He probably has sense enough to be somewhere getting ready to batten down the bird hatches!...I don't know how much snow we're gonna get. The weather people are being kind of evasive in their assessments this time...4-8 inches....12 inches....rain and snow mix...ugh!
I shouldn't talk as if I'm so 'put out' by the snow. I'm really not. I'm not going out in it anyway! ^_^ But I hate to think that if I need some last minute color thread for a custom order...or need to send hubby to the post office to ship something...or if I need a 'food craving run'....and don't act like you don't know what I mean!! LOL...that my hubby will have to go out in precarious snow conditions! O_O So...we're preparing for the worst, and hoping for the best!

The other random thing I can tell you about is the fabulous photos that one of my customers just sent me...of him wearing my boutonniere! :-) ...

Now, why can't I take fabulous photos like this of my hubby wearing my boutonnieres?!...which he does all the time, by the way... Scratch that...I do know why...Because 'I can't'! I just can't! That's why!! LOL Thankfully, my customer has given me permission to share these. Thank you!! ♥

And my last random subject is this scarf...

      ...I just like it!! :-] ...That-is-all! LOL...Tomorrow...more talking! See you then! ^_^

No Rhyme Or Reason

I've never written a poem
that didn't have a rolling rhyme.
In my head that's how I see words.
Rhyming lines come every time!

No matter what the subject,
'food', 'crochet', 'hubby's bike'.
In my mind I have to find
a word that kinda sounds alike!

Have I written words on paper
without rhyming every word?!
Yes I have! About my father,
and my backyard hummingbird.

But when I think of poems
I can almost tap my feet...
as if music is now playing,
and I'm rhyming to a beat!

Is this every Poet's way?!
I don't know. I just know ME!
But if I wrote about it now,
it would be a rhyming soliloquy!

Let's Show Some Friday Appreciation!

I know...you thought you'd come by here today and see me talking about my 'virtual' date with my hubby tonight, right? ^_^ Well...NOT! We'll just enjoy it by ourselves this time. I thought I'd give you a little break. Instead I thought I'd just take a minute to show some appreciation for people's creativity and hard work!...You know, stop and smell the...daisies! ^_^

Being a crocheter myself...some would call me a 'fool' crocheter! :-) ...I can REALLY appreciate the hard work that went into this...

Oh! The detail in this sweater!!...It kinda reminds me of the crocheted circles I did for the yoyo bag I made a while back for my Wuglyees shop! Whew!...I know how much work my circles were. I can only imagine how much work her circles...plus everything else in this sweater...must have been!

And let's show some appreciation for these items too!...

I'm in awe at the amount of time and detail is going into the work people are creatively producing!...Now, if only they could get paid appropriately for it!! Yeah, yeah, yeah!!! ^_^ Then working my poor little crochet fingers to the bones with my boutonnieres would be even more fun! ^_^

Okay...let's face it...I would be making my little flowers even if I wasn't getting paid! ^_^ But hey! I still wouldn't mind the financial appreciation!! LOL

So, that's what I'm appreciating today!...and my cooking, back-rub giving, off-key singing, post office errand running, hard working, hubby! :-) Yep! I appreciate him too!...especially on 'Friday Virtual Date Day'! ^_^ Have a good day, Everybody! And if I don't hear from you, have a good weekend too! :-)

Virtual trip

I really like to travel,
See the world, expand my mind.
But not getting on an airplane,
or hunting luggage I can't find!

I like a 'good ole' virtual trip.
Computer details. Music too.
Where you don't need a 'stinking' passport,
or have to wear a 'stinking' shoe!

But a little stay at home,
under covers, lock and key,
can also be expansive.
Even if just 'virtually'.
