Even Spiders Are Taking Advantage Of The Fall Weather!

YAY...It's Fall! :-) My favorite season of the year!...And if you look at the changing colors of the leaves in the backyard you'll see why!...

Well...some of the leaves are changing....Some are dying!...

They're making room for all of the snow of Winter, the flowers of Spring, and the gloriousness of Summer for next year! :-) Bye, Bye, leaves!...

And in amongst all of the color of Fall that's in the backyard...is another bit of creativity forming! :-) ...

"Oh Yes He Did!!!" ^_^ ...

Right in the same tree where my hummingbirds just recently were flitting back and forth to steal a little nectar!...

Now, generally speaking, I'm not a fan of spiders. Especially not spiders that I find inside the house!...*cold shiver!*...And especially not spiders who look like they could grow large enough to tote my house away!!! LOL Okay...maybe that's exaggerating a bit...but just 'a BIT!' O_O ...*Another COLD SHIVER!*
All of that aside, I had to marvel at the web this HUGE spider spun!...Look at it!!...

      It's amazing!!!!

Okay...the marveling part is over!...Would it be wrong to now wish for a strong wind?! O_O ...*C-O-L-D...S-H-I-V-E-R!!!!!!* ...

Have a good Monday, Everybody! :-)

You Ever Watch A Spider?

You ever watch a spider,
when he's working out his plan?
He's amazing in his 'know how',
and his determination's grand!

He spins a web and sits there,
waiting for the winds to change;
For dinner to come to him,
with no stove or oven range!

It seems a 'wee bit' gory
as he wraps his dinner tight.
But no 'Seran Wrap', tape, or foil;
just 'know how', as to do it right!

But what amazes me
is not the way the spider dines.
It's all the prep work of the web,
which, in the sun, just shines.

The web is perfect in it's shape,
and sturdiness, and flare.
And how, through everything,
it simply sways and stays right there!

You ever watch a spider,
and wonder where it gets it's brain?
Were you watching from a couch,
or were you standing in the rain?!

When you see a spider work,
no matter where this work might be,
You can't help marvel at him,
and his creative oddity!

Pancake Train of Thought!

Hello!...Did you see the beautiful photo of the pancakes?! :-) How could you miss it, right?!...They look so good!!!...It's the perfect photo to lead a 'Pancake Sunday' post with! ^_^ But 'No!'...I'm still not eating pancakes....I just still wanna 'look at' pancakes!! ^_^ I'm hoping my "issue" with the pancakes fixes itself soon. I'm missing my buttermilk 'babies'!
Anyway!...I'm up doing my blog right now...at 2:40 a.m....I couldn't sleep. And 'No!'...I wasn't craving pancakes!! LOL That hormonal "issue" that I was talking about is also affecting my sleep pattern again....Ugh!...Hopefully I'll be able to go back down and get a few more Zzzs before long.....We'll see!
In the meantime, I wanna show you a few really cute things I found....and also a few pancakes!...sorta, kinda. ^_^ ...

In case you didn't notice...the butterfly is a BUTTON! :-) How cool, right?!...You know, I think I'm gonna have to make a few things with my buttons...whether anybody buys them or not!...It's time! :-)
I saw someone sharing a whole stash of their buttons on Facebook yesterday, and I started getting nostalgic!...I used to put buttons...interesting buttons...on EVERYTHING! But my customers didn't like my crochet flowers with buttons. So I stopped putting them on.
      I need to start doing it again though...at least a few...for ME! :-) I'll keep you posted.....You know I will!! ^_^ ... Okay. Moving on!...to pancakes!!...

     Well....pancakes sorta! Like...for the head! :-)

I like the chocolate chips in the pancakes!! :-) ... I thought they were blueberries. You know, blueberry pancakes! ^_^ I like blueberry pancakes!...And I like blueberry colored leaves too!...for the neck! :-) ...

I have to pause again for more pancakes...sorta! :-) ...

Are you following my train of thought?!....TRY, TRY, TRY!!! :-)) ...

The whole point of my train of thought today is PANCAKES.....sorta, kinda. :-)) ...

And even though I'm not eating them, I still love them!!...Speaking of love...

Did I lose you now?!...Sorry ^_^ It's a mind that was interrupted from sleep...and that's about to throw me into dreamland again!...thankfully!...Have a good Sunday, Everybody! :-) If I get up any time soon I'll think of you...and this silly 'all-over-the-place' blog post...and smile. :-)

Nostalgic

Why do we get nostalgic
for the places of our past?
For the music and the people
who were in our high school class?

Why do we get nostalgic
for the foods we used to eat?
Like your mom's banana pudding,
boiled pig ears and chicken feet?

Why do we get nostalgic
for old bikes we once rode on?
And for buying penny candy
at a time thats long since gone?

Why do we get nostalgic
for long conversations had
when our cousins used to visit
(That was-til we all got mad)?!

Why do we get nostalgic?
Frankly, I'm  sure I don't  know,
'cause I sat and wrote a poem
like a true nostalgia pro!

Do You Wanna Feel Good Today?!....

I woke up this morning with the song by the 'Sons of the Pioneers', 'Tumbling Tumbleweeds', going over and over in my head...O_O...I don't know why either! LOL I mean, I really like the song, but it kinda gives you the feeling of drifting...relaxing....rolling along...like a tumbling tumbleweed! ^_^
I've got things to do today! I can't be tumbling along like a tumbling tumbleweed!! LOL...Although I do like the way it made me feel good somehow...So, I decided I would do the same thing for YOU! :-) So that's all my blog is about today...making you feel good...ENJOY! :-)

The first thing you have to do to feel good is 'Put your records on'! ...

How about some 'feel good' reciting of poetry...by a 3 year old?! :-) ... It's a poem by Billy Collins called "Litany"... You can see the full poem below. I'll leave that one instead of one of mine today. :-)

       Happiness, right?! ^_^ ... Not enough?!...How about a little bedtime song...for puppies?! :-)

Okay...maybe that was too much! LOL So how about just stopping to say something nice?!...

    Okay...'I'm Moving On'. :-) Have a good day...feel good! :-)

Litany (By Billy Collins)

You are the bread and the knife,
the crystal goblet and the wine.
You are the dew on the morning grass
and the burning wheel of the sun.
You are the white apron of the baker,
and the marsh birds suddenly in flight.

However, you are not the wind in the orchard,
the plums on the counter,
or the house of cards.
And you are certainly not the pine-scented air.
There is just no way that you are the pine-scented air.

It is possible that you are the fish under the bridge,
maybe even the pigeon on the general's head,
but you are not even close
to being the field of cornflowers at dusk.

And a quick look in the mirror will show
that you are neither the boots in the corner
nor the boat asleep in its boathouse.

It might interest you to know,
speaking of the plentiful imagery of the world,
that I am the sound of rain on the roof.

I also happen to be the shooting star,
the evening paper blowing down an alley
and the basket of chestnuts on the kitchen table.

I am also the moon in the trees
and the blind woman's tea cup.
But don't worry, I'm not the bread and the knife.
You are still the bread and the knife.
You will always be the bread and the knife,
not to mention the crystal goblet and--somehow--the wine.

'Virtual' Friday Date Night...And 'Enter Sandman'?!

It's been quite a few Fridays now since hubby and I actually wanted to go somewhere...besides going to sleep...for our 'virtual' Friday Date Night!...but tonight...after some really good news we received yesterday! Woohoo!!!!...we feel like traveling!! ^_^
I'm not gonna get into what the good news was, but suffice it to say....Woohoo!!!!!!!! ^_^ We've been waiting for it for a looooooong time!!...It means that maybe we'll be able to breathe a little, instead of hanging on pins and needles about our finances all the time.
Anyway!....we're ready to go to a place where the sun is shining, and colors are everywhere!! ^_^ And we couldn't have picked a better place to throw on our flip flops and throw off our cares than.....Puerto Rico!!!! :-)

Before I head off to finish packing though, let me show you the new photos I made of my crochet brooch and boutonniere wedding package! :-) ...

I'm gonna be putting some 'MADE TO ORDER' listings in my Wuglyees shop before we leave on our trip tonight.

I have one more bit of business to take care of...My 'Bye, Bye!' to Mariano Rivera, relief pitcher for the New York Yankees. He retired from baseball...
After getting the Yankees out of an eight inning jam in their game against the Tampa Bay Rays, Mariano Rivera was pulled from the game in the ninth inning by his teammates Andy Pettitte and Derek Jeter...It was his last time at Yankee Stadium...

Rivera was very emotional. You can see it in the video below...

I was so thankful they came out,” said Rivera, who cried when they reached the mound. “I was bombarded with emotions and feeling that I couldn’t describe,”...“Everything hit at that time. I knew that was the last time. Period. I never felt like that before.”

One baseball fan...actually a Red Sox baseball fan!...said: There goes "the best closer to ever grace a baseball diamond."

Mariano Rivera, nicknamed "Mo", is a Panamanian baseball pitcher who has played 19 seasons in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the New York Yankees.  He spent most of his career as a relief pitcher, and has served as the New York Yankees' closer since 1997...His number...#42...was retired by by the Yankees.

       'Enter Sandman'......Exit Sandman. :-]

I wonder if they have baseball in Puerto Rico?!...I could sure use a game right about now. ^_^

Have a good weekend, Everybody! :-)

Be The Best You Can Be

I live my life every day,
trying to be the very best I can,
so that I am not affected
by the degrading words of man.

If "I" know who I am,
then I don't care what others think;
I don't end up in some bar,
trying to hide my pain with drink.

Oh Yes! THEY have opinions
on what THEY think you should do,
on how you wear your hair,
where you should go, also with who!

I nod and give a grin,
respecting what they want to say;
but it's my thoughts that count
at the end of the day.

It makes it so much easier
when I'm being the best I can;
Then I feel good about my choices;
I don't fear words from any man!

Just A Little Peek At My New Wedding Crochet Brooch Set!

I just have to apologize right off the bat this morning to any of you who are just sick to death of hearing me talk about my new crochet boutonniere and brooch set....Sorry. :-) But here we go again!!
I'm almost completely done with it, and I needed to do this post as a reference for anybody that wants to look at the whole package in my shop on Etsy. Etsy only gives you five slots for photos, and this big ole 'baby' needs to be seen in more than five photos! ^_^
First, let me show you the bride's brooch (on the right below) again...sitting alongside the flower girl brooch! (on the left below) :-) ...

The bridal brooch has an extra layer of petals around the outside, and is a little larger. But I figured that whatever little girl the bride chose as her flower girl, she would want them to look as special as her that day. :-)

And I also figured that the bride would want her bridesmaids to look beautiful, and feel special, too! Not to mention be unified, while they're by her side that day! :-) .... So I made these three bridesmaid brooches (below) for them! :-) ...

Now, men...generally speaking...don't like huge flowers on their lapel! So I grappled with how to make the groom look special, and stand out, without sticking a huge flower on him. :-)) I asked my hubby for suggestions and he said: "Make his white, but put some blue or silver in the middle.....Nah!...Not silver. Put BLUE in the middle!" So that's what I did...but in 'turquoise', not plain blue!! (groom's boutonniere on the left below) ^_^ ...

The tiny lapel pin on the right (above) is a ring bearer lapel pin. :-) ... Hey! Little boys have to look kinda special too, don't they?! ^_^

Speaking of boys...I also made three groomsmen boutonnieres (below)...

Hubby suggested that the groomsmen boutonnieres should be the opposite color design from the groom (turquoise, with white centers). {Of course, when people order them 'MADE TO ORDER' they can choose whatever colors they want!!! :-)

      That's the package! ^_^

1 Bride's 3-layer Brooch
1 Flower Girl Brooch
3 Bridesmaid 3-layer Brooches
1 Groom's Boutonniere
1 Ring Bearer's Lapel Pin
3 Groomsmen Boutonnieres
(Plus 2 FREE Mother's Brooches...for the mothers of the bride and groom)

All of the brooches, boutonnieres, and lapel pins can have either a brooch pin, a button, a foldable pin fastener, or a button clutch pin on the back, to wear them...depending on the customer's preference...

I've made a few with the new clutch pins on the back. Hubby really likes them!!...

By the way, I'm also gonna be adding an extra couple of brooches to the package as free gifts! ^_^ Two loopier, slightly larger brooches...for the mother of the bride, and the mother of the groom! :-) ...

The above brooch is one of the mother's brooches that I started last night. It's sorta like the groom's brooch...but bigger...and loopier! ^_^ ... The mother of the bride's brooch will look sorta like it, but with a silver center. :-) I may add them to this post later.

As of right now, the whole package will be about $110, plus shipping. I think a wedding is worth that, don't you?! ^_^ ... By the way, if you want to make the wedding package your own way...customize it!...here are the prices:

-- 3-layer Brooches = $11.00 each (add $1.00 for specialty threads, like the silver shown above)
-- Regular size Brooches and Boutonnieres = $10.50 each
-- tiny Lapel Pins = $9.50 each
-- Mother's Loop-Style Brooches $11.50
-- Bridal Necklaces = Add $1.00 to the price of any brooch (All of the brooches and pins can be converted and made with a leather cord, or a gun metal ball chain and bar necklace.)

Just give me your order by going over to my Wuglyees Etsy shop and leaving me a message in the "Contact the shop owner" section. Each package will be MADE TO ORDER within 2-4 weeks! (Sometimes shorter, depending on how busy I am at the time.)

     So there's my 'PEEK'! :-) ...

Now I'm off to get that mother's brooch finished! :-) Have a good day, Everybody!!

New Marriage

Congratulations, You two!

Up With The Chickens...And Ready To THINK????!!!!!

I was 'up with the chickens' this morning. And not for a bad reason this time! :-) I decided to go to bed earlier than usual last night...or should I just admit that I was trying to watch "The Voice"...and it started, at some point, to watch me instead! ^_^ Next thing I know it was morning! ^_^
Now I'm all rested, and wide-eyed, clear-brained....with my typical melody roaming around in my head:-) .....and hungry! And seeing as it was waaaaay too early to be thinking about breakfast...I just popped a piece of 'Russell Stover' chocolate in my mouth. You know...one of those random pieces of candy I had laying around. ^_^
Anyway!...Now that I'm up, let me show you what I found!...

How cute is this candle!! It looks exactly like a bee hive! :-) And the description says that it's made with pure beeswax that's been rubbed with sweet annie blossoms or spice blend!...So, not only does it 'look' cute...it probably 'smells' good too! ^_^

And for those times when you're not sure what day it is...and there could be all kinds of good reasons for that! O_O...*That's my story, and I'm sticking to it!!*...this little calendar would be great to have sitting directly in front of you!...at all times!! LOL

I love that it looks sorta like a globe from the front... :-) ...and if you turn it sideways it sorta looks like a typewriter. :-)) (Click the photo and go and see for yourself! ^_^)

And for some reason I've really been attracted to owls and pincushions lately! The owls....okay. Who 'isn't' attracted to owls?! ^_^ But the pincushions?!....I don't know. I know it's not because I like to sew!....YUCK!...Maybe it's the cute designs and the COLORS! :-) ...

     Yeah! That's probably it....the COLORS! ^_^ They're so pretty!!!!

Otherwise this morning...I got nothing!! LOL....Wait! Yes I do!...I can tell you that my wedding set, the first one anyway, will be all done as of today! :-) I've already made a wedding brooch for the bride, three bridesmaids' brooches, a little brooch for the flower girl, a grooms boutonniere, and a little lapel pin for the ring bearer!
Today I have to make three boutonnieres for the groomsmen and I'm done! :-) Well, maybe!...I'm still considering whether to add a couple of brooch flowers for the mothers of the bride and groom...What do you think?!....And if you think I should, what do you think those brooch flowers should look like?!...Bigger than the bride's?!...Completely one color?!...O_O Decisions! Decisions!
This 'getting up early' thing is kinda tough on the thinking brain cells!! LOL...Have a good day, Everybody! :-)

Decisions, Decisions

What should I do?
Don't know if I should go.
What should I wear?
I don't know, I don't know!

What should I say?
Don't need another foe.
Should I tell the truth?
I don't know, I don't know!

Which course should I choose?
The high road, or the low?
Will we be okay no matter?
I think so. I do think so!

Who should I be?
My peppy self or keep it low?
But can they handle it?
I don't know, I don't know!

Do I choose bright red,
or is blue the way to go?
I know there should be color,
but I don't know, I don't know!

Decisions, decisions.
Coming at you every day.
You will be just fine!
Come what may, come what may!

"Tuesday...This Is How I Roll!"

"Yeah, I'm Up!"...but I'm not awake...yet! ^_^ But even when I'm not completely awake I can still talk! That's just how I roll! LOL...And this morning I wanna talk about this cute owl pillow!...

Yes! Owls are still 'in'! :-) And they've been 'in' for a long time! In fact, my Etsy search every morning comes across at least one owl...usually more than one! But they're so cute...and Etsian's are so creative in the way they display them...that I don't mind at all. Bring on the owls!! :-)

I also wanna talk about this bracelet!...

I'm not that much of a bracelet wearer...that's just how I roll!...but I still can admire a beautiful turquoise bracelet...that's sharing the color of my latest crochet boutonniere set...just saying! ^_^ AND it has a flower!!! :-)

Also, I wanna talk about how cute 'Fall Inspired' jewelry is...especially this necklace!...

Wouldn't this look pretty with a tweed skirt, or a plain white sweater?! :-) Of course, not everybody would wear it the same way I would. But if I was dressing for Fall, plain white sweaters and tweed skirts is how I would roll! :-)

And lastly...as far as Etsy finds is concerned...I wanna talk about pincushions....Or should I say 'THIS' pincushion! :-) ...

He's like the superhero of pincushions! ^_^ And look at all of those cute colored pins!!! :-)

Okay...I'm MORE awake now. And I can tell you that hubby's sister is gone. He loved seeing her, and hopes it won't be that long before he sees her the next time. :-) ♥ ... I can also tell you that my hummingbirds are 'officially' gone now...I think. One flew up to the window while I was talking to my girlfriend on the phone yesterday!!
He totally ignored the feeder, and instead came over to the window and looks at me! He flew left and right, tipping his little head, trying to look in the window!! ;_; Yes...I teared up. It was sorta like he was saying:

"Hi Poetesswug! I got almost all the way down to the Gulf of Mexico and remembered that I hadn't said 'Thank You' and 'Goodbye'! So I had to dart back and give you a little wave. Okay...gotta go. See ya next year!"

     Okay...so hummingbirds don't talk. I get that!...But I talk!...for them! ^_^ ...

Have a good day, Everybody! :-)

Family Perspective

When we're all together we are--
Massively talkative,
argumentative, competitive;
adaptive, adhesive,
so much fun, addictive.

When we want to be, we are--
acceptive, accommodative,
attentive, creative;
appreciative, inclusive,
enjoyably cooperative.

When you catch us on a bad day we're--
aggressive, combative,
allusive, explosive;
assertive, offensive, ,
over-protective, combustive..

When we take the time to think we are--
assertive, affective,
adoptive, non-corrosive;
attractive, progressive,
apprehensive, but non-subversive.

But what our family mostly is, is--
actively responsive,
communicative, acceptive,
Positive, supportive;
And as a spiritual collective,
moved by one directive.
